About
This coffee comes from the ASOMUJER (Asociación de Campesinas del Sur del Huila) cooperative in the department of Huila. The group was founded in 2007 by ten women looking for alternative business opportunities and better conditions in return for their work. Today ASOMUJER is made up of seventy-five women producers, including activists, single mothers, and those displaced by Colombia's conflicts. The decaffeination is carried out locally with ethyl acetate naturally extracted from sugar cane, a plentiful local resource.
